If the Jayhawks are to get a win on Friday night, they'll need another strong performance from center Jeff Withey.
The senior is coming off quite possibly the best game of his career, in which he scored 16 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and added five blocks in the victory over North Carolina. Guard Travis Releford added 22 points for Kansas, which improved to 31-5 on the season with Sunday's win.
While Kansas will rely on solid post play, Michigan will need a big game from guards Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. to notch a victory. Burke is coming off an 18-point, seven-assist effort in a Round of 32 win over VCU, while Hardaway has averaged 17.5 points in two tournament games so far.
The winner of Kansas-Michigan will advance to play in Sunday’s South Regional final, against either Florida or Florida Gulf Coast.
