Notre Dame recovered from a slow first half to easily dispatch St. John’s, 66-40. But nobody will be talking about the actual game later.

Notre Dame got off to a rough start in the first half, only shooting 27% from the field. Meanwhile, St. John’s played physical defense, leading to several impressive blocks. The Red Storm closed the half on an 8-0 run and went into the locker room up 26-22.
The second half was a completely different story. The Irish ripped off a 19-6 run in the first 10 minutes, while the Storm simply could not find the bucket. Notre Dame utterly dominated the second half, putting this game away early and holding St. John’s to just 14 points in the second half.
By the time the Irish pulled their starters with 1:46 left, things got ugly. The fight led to an ejection for Notre Dame forward Cameron Biedscheid, meaning he won't play the season finale against Louisville.
Jerian Grant led all players with 21 points. Jack Cooley racked up his 19th double-double of the season with 12 points and 14 rebounds. On the Storm's side, Jakarr Simpson led with 14 points.
The Irish (23-7, 11-6) close out the regular season at Louisville. They move into a tie for 4th place in the Big East and are in good shape for an NCAA bid.
