With the Belmont Bruins having moved to the Ohio Valley Conference, there will be a new champion crowned in the Atlantic Sun Tournament this year, which gets underway on Wednesday, March 6 at Hawkins Arena in Macon, Ga. Two quarterfinal games will be held on Wednesday, with the following two scheduled for Thursday.

The winner of the Atlantic Sun Tournament will be the first team to punch their dance card for the 2013 NCAA Tournament.

Top-seeded Mercer and two-seed Florida Gulf Coast are the teams to beat and both are in action on Wednesday. Mercer hopes the added boost of serving as tournament hosts can help send their to their first NCAA Tournament since 1985. The Bears were undefeated on their home court during the regular season.
The Atlantic Sun championship is on Saturday, March 9. It is the first conference to play its championship game and send an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
