Big 12 basketball standings 2013: Kansas State still in the regular season title mix

Kansas State is now tied for first place after dispatching TCU on Tuesday.

Jamie Squire

Only one game was on the slate Tuesday night for the Big 12, as the Kansas State Wildcats hosted the TCU Horned Frogs. Kansas State didn't have much trouble against the last-place Frogs, winning 79-68. They now sit tied for first place in the conference standings and will face the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the regular season finale on Saturday. TCU will also close out its season on Saturday, taking on the Oklahoma Sooners.

Team Conference Overall
Kansas 14-3 26-4
Kansas State 14-3 25-5
Oklahoma State 12-4 22-6
Oklahoma 10-6 19-9
Iowa State 9-7 19-10
Baylor 8-9 17-13
West Virginia 6-10 13-16
Texas 6-11 14-16
Texas Tech 3-14 10-18
TCU 1-16 10-20

There's still some jockeying left to do at the top of the standings before the Big 12 tournament starts March 13. The Kansas Jayhawks can clinch the No. 1 seed by taking care of business at Baylor on Saturday. The Bears are all but out of the NCAA tournament after a late-season collapse, and even an upset victory over Kansas may not be enough to impress the Selection Committee. Barring a miracle run in the conference tourney, they may be headed to the NIT.
