Big East standings 2013: Regular season title still up for grabs

With only one game remaining in the regular season three teams could still end as Big East regular season champions.

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

In the last season of the Big East as we know it, it is fitting that things go down to the last game. Georgetown, Louisville, and Marquette could all end up with at least a share of the Big East regular season crown and the top seed in the Big East Tournament.

Saturday, March 9 will see a full slate of action with every game having an impact on the final standings. Georgetown hosts Syracuse for the last time as Big East rivals with the added impact of having a chance to win the conference title. Louisville hosts Notre Dame in a rematch of their five overtime classic from February as they fight for their share of the title. Marquette may have the easiest game remaining of the potential champs, but they are the only one of the three on the road as they travel to St. John’s.

With the top four seeds in the Big East getting a double-bye in the conference tournament, there is also a big race for fourth place. Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse all still have a shot at the double bye with one game remaining.
