The Mississippi State Bulldogs have had a season to forget. On Wednesday night, they took yet another punch to the gut.
Jalen Steele injury: Mississippi State guard tears ACL
Steele is the fourth player from Mississippi State to have his season end with a knee injury.

Junior shooting guard Jalen Steele, who is averaging 10 points and nearly three rebounds a game this season, hurt his knee while playing against South Carolina on Wednesday night. The university has announced he tore his ACL. Steele is done for the season and will have a long road ahead of him if he hopes to be ready for the start of practices in the fall.
As CBS Sports columnist Jeff Goodman tweeted, Steele’s torn ACL marks the fourth time this season Mississippi State has lost a player for the year due to a knee injury of some kind. For coach Rick Ray, it’s tough to imagine anything else going wrong this season.
The Bulldogs will wrap up their regular-season portion of SEC play on Saturday as they take on Auburn at home. MSU will have a chance to pull a few upsets at the SEC Tournament next week in New Orleans, but given their injury concerns, they will be considered heavy underdogs.
