The MAAC Tournament begins on Friday night at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. and with seven out of 10 teams posting a .500 record or better in conference play, it is wide open. Niagra is the top seed, but Iona, along with Lamont Jones, may be the most dangerous team as the No. 4 seed in the conference.
MAAC Tournament 2013 schedule and bracket: Automatic bid up for grabs
The MAAC Tournament begins on Friday night. Niagra is the favorite, but with seven teams finishing .500 or better in conference play, anyone could come out the winner.

With a conference that is so even from top to bottom, anyone could come out the winner. Only four teams play in the first round, but one of those teams is Fairfield, who finished 9-9 in conference and holds one of the best out of conference wins of any team in the MAAC with a win at St. Joesph's.
The only chance for any MAAC team to reach the NCAA Tournament this year is through winning the automatic bid. Last year Iona snuck in as one of the last at-large teams, but there is no chance of that this season. SB Nation’s Chris Dobbertean has the winner of the MAAC as a 16-seed in his bracket projections. The last MAAC team to win a game in the NCAA Tournament was Siena in 2009.
