2013 Northeast Conference Tournament schedule and bracket: Semifinals begin on Saturday

Top-seeded Robert Morris will look to avoid an early upset this weekend at the NEC Tournament.

The 2013 Northeast Conference Tournament is now in the semifinals portion of play. After four quarterfinals matchups earlier in the week, Robert Morris, Wagner, Long Island and Mount St. Mary’s are the four teams left in the hunt for the automatic NCAA Tournament bid.

On Saturday, two games are on the slate. At noon ET, No. 2 Wagner and No. 3 Long Island will square off. Once that game wraps up and the crews clear the floor, No. 1 Robert Morris will face No. 5 Mount St. Mary’s. Tip-off for this one is expected around 2:30 p.m.

The full tournament bracket can be found here.

If the regular season was any indication, we should expect plenty of scoring this weekend with a spot in the title game up for grabs. Teams averaged 74 points a game in the quarterfinals, and that will likely be the norm moving forward.

Fans will be able to find both of these games streamed live through ESPN3. They will be televised in limited capacity on MSGTV and Fox College Sports.

The winners of these two games will meet Tuesday for the championship, which will be live on ESPN2.
