The Big East has reached the final weekend of regular season play. As of Saturday morning, the standings are a mess.
2013 Big East basketball standings: Louisville, Georgetown and Marquette sit No. 1
As the Big East regular season wraps up on Saturday, we still have very little idea how the final standings will shake out.

Three teams, Louisville, Georgetown and Marquette, all sit at the top with 13-4 records. Then comes three more teams, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and a suddenly-slumping Syracuse squad, at 11-6. Villanova is done for the season at 10-8, while Connecticut and Providence are tied at 9-8. The rest are all below .500.
Here is a full look at the standings.
| Louisville | 13-4 | 25-5 |
| Georgetown | 13-4 | 23-5 |
| Marquette | 13-4 | 22-7 |
| Notre Dame | 11-6 | 23-7 |
| Pittsburgh | 11-6 | 23-7 |
| Syracuse | 11-6 | 23-7 |
| Villanova | 10-8 | 19-12 |
| Connecticut | 9-8 | 19-10 |
| Providence | 9-8 | 17-12 |
| Cincinnati | 8-9 | 20-10 |
| St. John's | 8-9 | 16-13 |
| Rutgers | 5-13 | 14-15 |
| Seton Hall | 3-15 | 14-17 |
| South Florida | 3-14 | 12-17 |
| DePaul | 2-15 | 11-19 |
There are three marquee games to keep an eye on. The first is Syracuse hitting the road to take on Georgetown at 12 p.m. The Hoyas knocked off Syracuse at the Carrier Dome two weeks ago, and the Orange would like to do nothing more than derail Georgetown’s hopes of a conference title.
At 2 p.m., Marquette heads to St. John’s. The Red Storm will be limited due to suspensions handed out for a brawl this past week. Two hours after this game tips off, Louisville will welcome in Notre Dame.
At the end of the day, if Louisville, Georgetown or Marquette stand alone with the best record, they win the Big East outright and also get the No. 1 seed at the conference tournament next week.
If there’s a tie, things get tricky. The schools would be co-champions for the season. As far as tournament seeding goes, Louisville holds the advantage over Marquette with a head-to-head win, while Georgetown has the edge on Louisville. Other than that, the final seeding for the Big East Tournament depends on the outcomes of other games set for Saturday.
