Duke wasted no time in Saturday night’s game against North Carolina, ripping off a 12-0 run to open the game and leaving Chapel Hill, N.C. with a 69-53 victory.

The Blue Devils may have missed out on the ACC regular season crown, but they buried the Tar Heels to claim second place in the conference.

Seth Curry made sure the game was never really close, sinking his first seven shots from the field for 15 points in the first 10 minutes. Duke took a 42-24 lead to halftime. Curry, who came into the game averaging 17 points per game, finished the night with 20 points.
Things didn't get much better for the Tar Heels in the second half. North Carolina managed to close the gap to 14 at one point, but Mason Plumlee kept things rolling for the Duke. He finished the game with a double-double and a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds.
As a team, Duke shot 55-percent from the field, which was quite a bit better than North Carolina, who shot just under 34-percent in the game. The shooting discrepancy made this a lopsided affair throughout the night, with Duke leading by as many as 25 at one point.
With the win, Duke locked up second place in the ACC and the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. While Duke finished the season with a 27-4 regular-season record, the best of any team in the ACC, Miami’s conference record of 15-3 was the best in the league, leaving Duke as the runner-up.
Two more ACC games are still on the schedule for Sunday, but Duke will have a bye to the quarterfinals of the conference tournament. Duke will play on Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m.
