Rysheed Jordan commits to St. John’s

Highly-touted recruit Rysheed Jordan will join a St. John’s squad that is already heavy with young talent.

Jordan is ranked No. 22 on ESPN's top-100 list and is the No. 29 overall prospect in the nation according to Rivals.com. The 6'3, 180-pound point guard won a state championship in his senior season at Roberts Vaux High School after scoring 26 points and dishing out six assists per game.

Jordan praised the system run by St. John's head coach Steve Lavin when talking about why he chose the Red Storm:

"I really like their style of play, pick-and-roll and how Coach Lavin lets their guards play."

St. John’s finished the 2012-13 season with a 17-16 record and a loss to Virginia in the second round of the NIT. The Red Storm’s top 10 scorers will return next season.
