CIT Tournament 2013: Game preview, TV schedule for Weber State vs. East Carolina

The winner of Tuesday’s game also receives an automatic invitation to next year’s CIT Tournament should they not reach the NCAAs or NIT.

USA TODAY Sports

The 2013 College Insider Tournament will have a champion on Tuesday night. After five rounds of action, the East Carolina Pirates and Weber State Wildcats are all that remain from the field of 32 teams.

East Carolina reached this point after knocking off Evansville in the semifinals, cruising to an 81-58 win. The Pirates were led by senior forward Maurice Kemp, who recorded a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Miguel Paul also scored 19 points and dished out 11 assists in the winning effort.

Weber State edged Northern Iowa in thrilling fashion to reach the title game, winning by a score of 59-56. Davion Berry had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats, while Scott Bamforth chipped in 14 points.

The championship game will be played at 8 p.m. ET. It will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

The winner on Tuesday is also guaranteed a spot in next year’s CIT Tournament should it not be selected for the NCAA Tournament or NIT Tournament first.
