Napier was a first-team All-Big East selection in 2012-13 after averaging 17.1 points per game and leading UConn to a 20-win season. The Huskies were ineligible for postseason play as a result of poor Academic Progress Rate scores, but the ban will be lifted for Napier's final college campaign.
The Huskies will return their top-seven scorers next year, including Napier, Ryan Boatright, DeAndre Daniels and Omar Calhoun, each of whom averaged in double-figures last season. That prospect has Napier looking forward to the Huskies' future:
"We think we have a great team for next season and we're excited about playing for a conference championship and in the NCAA Tournament."
UConn will compete in the newly-formed American Athletic Conference next season after the breakup of the former all-sports version of the Big East.
