Final Four 2013: Predictions for Michigan vs. Syracuse

Most experts expect Michigan to wear down Syracuse’s defense and advance to the title game.

USA TODAY Sports

The Michigan Wolverines and Syracuse Orange will face off in the Final Four on Saturday. This is Michigan's seventh appearance in the national semifinals, and first time since the Fab Five era in 1993. They defeated South Dakota State, VCU, Kansas and Florida to get to this point, led by All-American and National Player of the Year candidate Trey Burke.

The Orange are in the Final Four for the fifth time in school history. Their last appearance was in 2003, when they won the national title. Thanks to Michael Carter-Williams and Jim Boeheim's stifling 2-3 zone defense, Syracuse breezed through the tournament, beating Montana, California, Indiana and Marquette. Cal was the only team they didn't beat by double digit points.

Michigan is currently favored by two points, and CBS Sports' entire panel of experts is picking them to win this game. Unlike most of the teams Syracuse has faced so far, the Wolverines have the offensive firepower to overcome the 2-3 zone and enough speed to prevent Syracuse from playing their brand of half-court basketball. The key to this game may come down to whether Mitch McGary can keep his hot streak going.

The Orange and Wolverines will tip off at approximately 8:50 P.M. ET on Saturday.
