McDonald’s All-American Game 2013 score: Aaron Gordon leads West to 56-44 lead

Aaron Gordon has a game-high 14 points and his West team leads the East by 12 at halftime of the McDonald’s All-American game.

USA TODAY Sports

Halfway through the annual McDonald’s All-American game, the West leads the East, 56-44, behind a game-high 14 points from Arizona-bound Aaron Gordon.

This year's contest between the best high school prospects in the country also features six future Kentucky Wildcats, including the highly-coveted Harrison twins. Aaron and Andrew made their presence felt early for the West team, tallying four assists in the first five minutes. Then, Aaron connected with his brother for a loud alley-oop, surely opening the eyes of Big Blue Nation.

Their future teammate, Julius Randle, showed he was a versatile big man by running the court well, throwing down a reverse dunk off a lob, and pulling down several rebounds.

But Gordon might have shown more athleticism than anyone. He had five dunks in the half, making up for an embarrassing miss where he tried to go through his legs and threw the ball off the rim.

The nation’s highest-ranked recruit, Andrew Wiggins, led the East with 12 points. He is still undecided, but Florida State and Kentucky are considered the favorites.
