Former Wisconsin-Green Bay center Ryan Bross went public with his allegations against coach Brian Wardle on Tuesday, in a wide-ranging interview with the Green Bay Press Gazette.
Wisconsin-Green Bay coach Brian Wardle accused of abuse by former player
The school has appointed an independent lawyer to investigate claims made by former walk-on Ryan Bross.

Bross, who is transferring to a Division III school, had a long series of complaints about his former coach.
Perhaps the most graphic allegations involve the team’s preseason conditioning drill, when the coaching staff refused to let him use the bathroom and he ended up defecating on himself. Bross alleges that the incident was continually brought up during the season as part of a pattern of verbal abuse by Wardle.
Additionally, Bross said that the coach encouraged him to have sex with another student, despite his religious beliefs, because it would “make him a better basketball player.” He also claims that Wardle prevented him from enrolling in some science classes because a biology major would interfere with his athletic career in the years ahead.
A lawyer from the area with no ties to the school has been appointed to lead the investigation into Wardle’s behavior, which remains ongoing.
In three years at the school, Wardle has a 47-49 record. UWGB has not made the NCAA Tournament since 1996.
