The Metro State Roadrunners and Drury Panthers square off in the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship on Sunday.

Metro State (Colo.) and Drury (Mo.) will give college basketball fans something to watch on a day off during the Final Four.


The Roadrunners, ranked No. 3 overall in Division II, enter the game with a 32-2 record. The Denver-based squad has won nine straight games, including five NCAA Division II Tournament contests. All five of Metro State’s starters average more than 10 points per game, led by Brandon Jefferson, who scores 14.7 points per contest.
The Panthers (30-4) are ranked No. 7 in Division II. They have not lost since Jan. 10, reeling off 22 straight victories in that span. Drury features an excellent back court, led by shooting guard Alex Hall, who averages 20.3 points per game. Point guard Brandon Lockhart is the team's best three-point shooter, making 48.8 percent of his attempts en route to 12.4 points per game. Lockhart also averages better than six assists per contest and leads the team in steals with 100.
Metro State is looking for its third national championship, and Drury is playing in its first title game.
