After losing in the national semifinals of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night, the Syracuse Orange wanted to make one thing crystal clear: coach Jim Boeheim be back, according to USA Today.

The longtime fixture on the Syracuse bench told reporters he would in fact be returning to help guide the Orange through its first year in the ACC, continuing his tenure that started in 1976.
Boeheim has been to four Final Fours with Syracuse over that span. In 1987, Keith Smart and the Indiana Hoosiers beat him in the championship game and the Kentucky Wildcats handed him the same fate in 1996.
Boeheim finally got his championship in 2003, beating the Kansas Jayhawks with a loaded team that featured Carmelo Anthony, Gerry McNamara and Hakim Warrick.
Few coaches have ever enjoyed anything close to the amount of success Boeheim has. In his 38 years with the Orange, they have made the NCAA Tournament 31 times, and made the NIT another six. The only year Syracuse failed to qualify for postseason play was 1992-93 because of NCAA violations.
