As Albrecht started to steal the show and the Wolverines took a 20-15 lead, Louisville's Luke Hancock stalled the Wolverines' momentum. He drew a foul on a 3-point shot, making two of his three attempts, and had a steal for the Cardinals on their next possession. Louisville did not convert, committing their first turnover with just over 10:30 to play in the half.
Michigan took its biggest lead at 26-17 before a Chane Behanan dunk closed the gap to 26-19.
