NCAA Tournament championship game score update: Louisville leads Michigan, 63-60

Louisville is up by three inside eight minutes left in the national title game.

USA TODAY Sports

The No. 1 Louisville Cardinals hold a 63-60 lead over the No. 4 Michigan Wolverines with 7:57 remaining in the 2013 NCAA Tournament championship game.

Peyton Siva made a three consecutive layups, and came up with a steal on a Michigan fast break, to preserve a four-point lead for Louisville. Tim Hardaway Jr. answered with a thunderous dunk on the following possession, getting the Wolverines back to within a bucket.

Mitch McGary is officially in foul trouble though, picking up his fourth whistle after fouling Luke Hancock on a three-point attempt. Hancock made only one of the ensuing free throw attempts, but Russ Smith bailed him out with a jumper on the next possession to extend Louisville's lead to five.

Trey Burke made a layup just before the under-eight-minute TV timeout, and will attempt to make it a three-point play after the break.
