Michigan vs. Louisville score update, NCAA title game: Cardinals hold 73-65 lead with 3:52 to go

This is fun, y’all.

USA TODAY Sports

The national championship game is coming down to the wire, and the Louisville Cardinals lead a fast-paced game over the Michigan Wolverines, 73-65, with 3:52 to play. The eight-point spread is Louisville's largest lead of the game.

Under Louisville's pressure, Michigan started to lose a bit of its footing. After Gorgui Dieng hit a long jumper to give Louisville a 65-61 lead with just under eight minutes to play, Spike Albrecht committed a turnover in a frenzy trying to get the ball to Nik Stauskas.

With 6:24 to go, Luke Hancock connected with Peyton Siva for a loud alley-oop dunk to give Louisville a 67-62 lead. On the ensuing inbounds play, Hancock stole it away from Michigan, but the Wolverines later answered with a huge alley-oop of their own, theirs from Trey Burke to Glenn Robinson III.

Dieng hit a turn-around hook shot with 4:50 to go to give the Cardinals a 71-64 lead, giving them their largest lead of the game to that point.

Michigan last led with 15:46 to go.
