DePaul allows F Donnavan Kirk to transfer

Donnavan Kirk’s career at DePaul is likely over and the one-time Miami recruit could be headed back to his original school.

Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

DePaul forward Donnavan Kirk has been given permission to contact other schools about transferring, the university announced on Friday.

Kirk, who has one season of eligibility remaining, will graduate from DePaul this summer. He appeared in 54 games for the Blue Demons over the past two seasons. Kirk put together his best college campaign to date in 2012-13, averaging 6.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 25.5 minutes per game.

Kirk transferred to DePaul from Miami, where he averaged 2.6 points and fewer than two rebounds per game in limited playing time, prior to the 2011-12 season.

The 6’9, 223-pound big man is reportedly considering returning to Miami, according to Jorge Milian of the Palm Beach Post. Colorado State is also a possible destination for Kirk, per Milian.

Kirk was ranked No. 88 overall by ESPN’s RecruitingNation out of high school in 2009, and was ranked 28th among all forwards upon signing with the Hurricanes over Iowa, Michigan State, South Florida and USC.
