Former Indiana Hoosiers guard Maurice Creek will transfer to George Washington. Creek announced his intention to transfer in April and made his destination known on Friday on his Twitter account, via CBS Sports' Matt Norlander.

Maurice Creek will head to George Washington to try to return to the form that he exhibited early in his college career at Indiana.

Creek endured multiple injuries during his college career, including a stress fracture in his right knee in 2011. The injuries put a damper on what started as a promising career at Indiana; Creek averaged 16.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in 25.4 minutes per game as a freshman in 2009-10.
Last season, Creek averaged just 1.8 points and 0.9 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per contest.
Despite his decision to leave the program, Creek received quite an endorsement from Indiana head coach Tom Crean back in April (via Norlander):
“In all my time as a coach, I have never witnessed someone overcoming the adversity that Maurice had sustained during his time. His attitude, ability to continue to work and his passion for the game of basketball have never wavered. He has been an integral part of our basketball family and will always remain that in our eyes and should also in the eyes of Hoosier Nation.”
Creek joins a George Washington squad that finished 13-17 in 2012-13 under head coach Mike Lonergan. Four of the team’s top five scorers will return next season, which will be Lonergan’s third year at the helm. The Colonials went 10-21 in Lonergan’s first year.
