Kyle Wiltjer will transfer to Gonzaga, his father told CBS Sports. Wiltjer announced his intention to transfer from Kentucky earlier in the offseason and will have to sit out the 2013-14 season before suiting up for the Bulldogs as a junior the following season.
Kyle Wiltjer will transfer to Gonzaga, according to report
Gonzaga picked up Kentucky transfer Kyle Wiltjer, who will have to sit out the 2013-14 season.

Gonzaga appeared to be the likely landing spot for Wiltjer from the moment he began to investigate a transfer. The Spokane, Wash., school is not far from his home in Portland, Ore., and he visited the school in June.
Playing time was going to be tough for Wiltjer to find at Kentucky and was the key reason for his transfer. Willie Cauley-Stein and Alex Poythress return from last year's team and are joined by five-star recruits Julius Randle, Dakari Johnson and Marcus Lee. If Wiltjer did return to Kentucky, he likely would have been asked to redshirt next season.
Wiltjer averaged 10.2 points as a sophomore and shot 36.7 percent from three, but he struggled down the stretch and with the incoming talent in Lexington, he was going to be pushed aside. That shouldn’t be the case at Gonzaga, where the former McDonald’s All-American is expected to be a key part of Mark Few’s team in 2014-15.
