The Georgetown Hoyas and Oregon Ducks will kick off the 2013-14 college basketball season in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, on Nov. 8. According to ESPN's Andy Katz, the two schools will play at Camp Humphreys, a military base about 45 miles south of Seoul.

This is the first time a regular-season college basketball game will be played in Asia since 1982.

The Hoyas and Ducks will both contend for spots in preseason top-25 polls. Georgetown figures to take a step back in 2013 following the departure of star forward Otto Porter to the NBA and Greg Whittington's knee injury, although there are still pieces in place to contend for the title in the new Big East.
Oregon returns a bulk of its talent from last year's Sweet 16 team and could challenge Arizona for the top spot in the Pac-12 behind rising guards Damyean Dotson and Dominic Artis. Head coach Dana Altman was excited to be selected for the game and said it will be an "enlightening" experience to spend a few days with the troops.
According to Katz, the last time two college hoops programs squared off in Asia was December 1982. Both Oregon and Georgetown have made offseason trips overseas in recent years, though, including Georgetown’s controversial trip in 2011 that led to a benches-clearing brawl with a Chinese team.
ESPN will televise the game.
