Jahii Carson, who led all freshmen in scoring last season at 18.5 points per game, is likely to turn pro after his sophomore year. He tested the waters this past summer but eventually decided to return to Arizona State for one more year in the desert. On Tuesday, he tweeted this:

A tweet from Carson indicates the speedy point guard will declare for the NBA Draft in 2014.

The tweet doesn’t officially signal anything, although it had been speculated before now that this may be Carson’s final season with the Sun Devils.
In addition to leading all freshmen in scoring and sharing Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors with Shabazz Muhammad, Carson dished out 5.1 assists per game and helped lead ASU to the NIT after the team won just 10 games the year before. Arizona State could compete for an NCAA Tournament berth in 2014 behind Carson and center Jordan Bachynski.
At 5’10 and 180 pounds, Carson will be a bit undersized as a point guard in the NBA. He is explosively quick and creative with the ball in his hands, though, and he could become a first-round selection with a strong sophomore campaign.
