Greg Anthony, Clark Kellogg swap jobs as Anthony becomes CBS’ lead college basketball game analyst

CBS will tinker with its college basketball coverage this season, swapping its lead studio analyst with its lead game analyst.

Douglas Jones-US PRESSWIRE

CBS announced Monday that Greg Anthony -- who has been the network's lead studio analyst in the studio since 2008 -- will become CBS' lead college basketball game analyst. He will likely call the Final Four and the NCAA Tournament with Jim Nantz and Steve Kerr for both CBS and Turner starting this March.

Prior to joining CBS, Anthony spent an extended stint as a studio analyst for ESPN. He also called Brooklyn Nets games on YES during the 2012-13 NBA season.

Where does that leave Clark Kellogg, the network’s current lead game analyst? He’ll move back to the studio, where he started with CBS in 1997. The network has named Clark their lead college basketball studio analyst, though he will still work a full slate of games on-site this season. Kellogg replaced Billy Packer as the network’s lead game analyst in 2008 and also works part time as a color analyst for the Indiana Pacers.

“Greg and Clark are two of the most respected, knowledgeable and passionate voices in college basketball,” said CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus. “They are both excellent game and studio analysts. It’s a luxury to have them both on our team. We believe this shuffling of our line-up allows both Greg and Clark to play more to their individual strengths, enhancing our overall coverage.”

CBS’ college basketball season opens Dec. 7 with UCLA vs. Missouri.
