Ole Miss G Marshall Henderson will practice during suspension

The lightning rod of college basketball will get ready with his team for the upcoming season, even if the date of his debut is unclear.

Suspended Ole Miss Rebels guard Marshall Henderson will practice with the team when it opens its preseason practice on Friday, according to CBSsports.com's Gary Parrish.

Henderson is still expected to miss games at the beginning of the season as a result of a violation-of-team-rules suspension that may have had something to do with a May arrest in which small amounts of cocaine and marijuana were reportedly found in his car.

Ole Miss athletics director Ross Bjork told USA Today’s Dan Wolken on Tuesday that the number of games for Henderson’s suspension has still yet to be determined.

Henderson scored 20.1 points per game last season and led the Rebels to their second SEC tournament title in school history and first sine 1981. Ole Miss qualified for its first NCAA tournament since 2002, advancing to the round of 32. On the heels of Ole Miss' success last season, coach Andy Kennedy received a four-year contract extension (the longest contract allowed under Mississippi state law) worth a base salary of $1.8 million per season, according to ESPN.com's Andy Katz.
