It was a wild night in Storrs as the No. 18 Louisville Cardinals beat the Connecticut Huskies, 76-64, in front of a sold-out Gampel Pavilion.

Kevin Ollie was ejected in the Cardinals’ 76-64 win over the Huskies on Saturday night.

Louisville controlled most of the second half, but the story of the game was UConn coach Kevin Ollie’s ejection. He was issued a technical by running down the sideline and screaming at an official after what appeared to be an egregious no-call that would have sent the Huskies to the line. He was thrown out just a few seconds later.

Though the crowd clearly disagreed with the call, as did Dick Vitale, Stuart did offer an explanation after the game. His statement, via UConn beat writer Neill Ostrout:

Louisville dominated the glass, out-rebounding UConn 45-30 and grabbing 16 offensive rebounds. Russ Smith shot 12-for-15 from the line and scored 23 points to lead the Cardinals, while Shabazz Napier had a game-high 30 for UConn.
Providence 81, No. 20 Creighton 68
It had been six weeks since Creighton last dropped a game, but the Bluejays' hot streak did not deter the Providence Friars, which led from start to finish en route to an 81-68 win Saturday night at the Dunkin Donuts Center.
The Friars are quietly putting together a respectable season, posting a 13-5 record and a 3-2 mark in the Big East.
Every Providence starter scored in double figures, led by Bryce Cotton's 23 points. He played all 40 minutes. Doug McDermott had 21 points and seven rebounds to lead Creighton, while Devin Brooks added 10 more off the bench.
No. 4 Michigan State 78, Illinois 62
The Spartans extended their winning streak to 10 games and stayed perfect in the Big Ten behind 23 points from Gary Harris. Michigan State also handed Illinois its fourth straight loss.
Denzel Valentine had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Keith Appling added another 15 points. Tracy Abrams had 15 to lead the Illini, but he did so on just 3-of-11 shooting.
Michigan State shot 56 percent for the game and out-rebounded Illinois, 38-25.
No. 16 Massachusetts 84, Elon 74
The Minutemen stepped out of conference and notched a 10-point win in their second of three consecutive road games.
Cady Lalanne had 23 points to lead UMass, while Chaz Williams scored all 20 of his points in the second half.
UMass led by 11 at the break and kept the Phoenix at bay for most of the second half to cruise in its final non-league game of the year. The Minutemen visit Richmond on Wednesday before returning home for a game against Fordham.
Lucas Troutman had 19 points for Elon, and Sebastian Koch shot 4-of-7 from three and scored 18.
