In their final tune-up before conference play, the Bears will host the Savannah State Tigers of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference on Friday night. Baylor has fended off upset bids from teams in smaller conferences this season, beating Charleston Southern by five and finishing off Northwest State in overtime.
College basketball schedule: No. 9 Baylor hosts Savannah State
The 11- Bears play their final non-conference game; upstart George Washington hosts Georgia.

Baylor is going to face an uphill battle in the Big 12 this season, with Kansas and Oklahoma State loaded to the brim with elite talent. Even Iowa State could make a push and win the conference title, which Kansas has won the past nine seasons.
Scott Drew’s team had their fair share of big wins in 2013, beating Colorado and Kentucky on neutral floors. Their lone loss is to Syracuse, who looks like one of the country’s elite teams.
Friday night’s only game involving a ranked team tips off at 8 p.m. ET.
Georgia vs. George Washington
One of the more surprising teams in the country, the George Washington Colonials will try to add another win over a power conference opponent, hosting the Georgia Bulldogs in Washington D.C. at 7 p.m. The Colonials already have wins over Miami, Creighton and Maryland this season. Their lone losses are to Marquette and Kansas State, who clearly outclassed them. But Georgia has struggled this season, already the victims of a four-game losing streak that included losses to Temple and Nebraska. With a win, GW could be building a case to crack the top 25 in the AP poll.
