Former Indiana Hoosiers center Luke Fischer announced Sunday he will transfer to the Marquette Golden Eagles after spending the first half of his freshman season in Bloomington.
Former Indiana C Luke Fischer will transfer to Marquette
Buzz Williams picked up a center eligible to play this time next year.

I am excited to say I will be transferring to Marquette University to play for Coach Williams and the Golden Eagles
— Luke Fischer (@Bigfishy44) January 5, 2014 Fischer is from Germantown, Wis., a town about 20 miles north of Marquette’s campus. The 6’11, 230-pound center averaged 2.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in his 13 games with Indiana, playing 10 minutes per contest off the bench for Tom Crean.
Fischer chose Marquette after announcing he would not transfer to the Wisconsin Badgers or any other Big Ten school out of respect for Crean, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Michael Hunt. Fischer was ranked No. 89 in the 247Sports Composite rankings for the Class of 2013, where he was also the No. 10 center.
Fischer will be eligible to play for Buzz Williams midway through the 2014-15 season, once he enrolls at the school.
