Syracuse vs. Virginia Tech final score: Orange have no troubles in 72-52 win

The Syracuse Orange easily dispatched Virginia Tech to stay undefeated on Tuesday.

Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange stayed undefeated with a dominant 72-52 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies on Tuesday.

C.J. Fair led the Orange with 17 points and was one of four players to score in double digits for Syracuse. It was a lopsided statistical affair between the two teams, as Virginia Tech didn't have the talent to compete with Syracuse. The Orange shot 46.7 percent from the floor and out-rebounded the Hokies 41-25.

C.J. Barksdale was the lone source of offense for Virginia Tech, finishing with 12 points. No other player scored in double digits as the Hokies struggled to figure out the Syracuse zone. Virginia Tech shot 36.7 percent from the floor and 29.2 percent from behind the arc.

Next up, Syracuse faces a tough test on Saturday when it hosts North Carolina, and Virginia Tech will remain home to host Boston College the same day.
