The guard will also not be enrolled at the university for the spring semester.

The statement did not disclose what exactly the violation entailed.
“I want to apologize to my family, coaches, teammates, and the entire Vanderbilt community for my actions that have led to this suspension,” said McClellan. “I take full responsibility for what has happened. I look forward to returning to school this summer and of continuing my goal of earning a degree at Vanderbilt and playing basketball for this coaching staff and with these players.”
The sophomore guard had appeared in each of the Commodores’ first 12 games but did not travel with the team to Tuscaloosa for its loss to Alabama. McClellan had been averaging 14.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He had a season-high 29 points in an overtime loss to Butler on Nov. 19.
Dai-Jon Parker took McClellan's spot in the starting lineup on Tuesday. He scored six points and dished out four assists in 38 minutes.
