No. 9 Florida had no problem dismantling South Carolina in its SEC opener, but a scary moment near the end marred what was been a routine victory.

The Gators won their sixth straight game on Wednesday, but lost Scottie Wilbekin to an ankle injury.


With less than three minutes to go and Florida well on its way to a 74-58 win, Scottie Wilbekin suffered an ankle injury and needed to be helped off the court.
Florida beat writer Kevin Brockway reported the injury as a right ankle sprain. The Gators said they weren't sure on the severity, but center Patric Young didn't seem worried:

Wilbekin finished with a game-high 17 points, while Young and Casey Prather added 13 points apiece. As a team, Florida shot 57.8 percent from the field and forced 21 South Carolina turnovers.
Tyrone Johnson came off the bench to lead the Gamecocks with 12 points. Sindarius Thornwell and Brenton Williams had 10 each.
The Gators have now won sixth straight games, last falling on a buzzer-beater to UConn over a month ago.
