Facing a tough Oklahoma team on the road, Wayne Selden was not about to let the No. 18 Kansas Jayhawks lose their second straight game. The freshman scored 24 points and made a huge hustle play to help the Jayhawks pull away down the stretch, 90-83.

Selden shot 9-17 on the day for a new career best, surpassing his previous high of 15 points. While he is considered the third most notable freshman on Bill Self’s roster behind Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid, the 6’5 guard is proving why Kansas’ recruiting class was so deep this year.
The Sooners continued their streak of playing tough against ranked opponents; they held their own against Michigan State on a neutral floor earlier in the season. Cameron Clark scored 32 points for Oklahoma, including 12 makes on 16 trips to the free-throw line.
The Jayhawks improve to 10-4 on the season, starting off the conference season with a win. Kansas is seeking its tenth straight Big 12 title.
