Colorado vs. Washington State final score: Buffaloes survive in overtime, 71-70

Colorado trailed much of the way, but dominated the overtime period to eke out the win.

William Mancebo

Colorado got all it could handle from Washington State Wednesday, but the Buffs’ superb play in overtime notched them a 71-70 win.

After the Cougars managed to tie the game with a desperation three in regulation, Colorado forward Josh Scott took over the game. The 6’10 sophomore doubled his output by hitting four field goals in the extra period, finishing with 19 points.

Dexter Kernich-Drew was the catalyst on offense for the Cougars, scoring 24 points in the losing effort.

No. 15 Colorado has gained a reputation as one of the best home teams in the country. But as Pac-12 play progresses, the Buffaloes will have to grind out games on other team’s floors to be considered a contender. Colorado will remain in the state of Washington, facing the Huskies in Seattle on Sunday.
