After a disappointing loss to Kansas State, Oklahoma State got back on track against Texas behind one of the nation's best players. Marcus Smart dropped 24 points in a phenomenal performance that saw the Cowboys outpace the Longhorns, 87-74.
Oklahoma State vs. Texas final score: Smart leads Cowboys past Longhorns, 87-74
Naismith Award candidate Marcus Smart had 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead Oklahoma State over Texas.

Even on a night where he was 4-11 from the field, Smart impacted the game on both ends of the floor. The senior tallied 11 rebounds, five assists and six steals, giving Texas fits from his guard position.
Smart and forward Markel Brown combined to hit 27 free throws, more than the entire Texas team would attempt on the day.
The Cowboys got their first conference win in what should be a competitive Big 12 season. Kansas is good, but might not be good enough to secure its tenth-straight regular season conference title. If they were to falter, Okie State and Baylor would be the most likely candidates to raise the trophy.
