Isaiah Briscoe commits to Kentucky

The five-star guard from New Jersey is the latest prospect to choose John Calipari’s team.

USA TODAY Sports

Class of 2015 five-star point guard Isaiah Briscoe has announced his decision to join John Calipari’s NBA prospect machine at Kentucky. Briscoe chose Big Blue Nation over St. John’s and Connecticut. Briscoe is only giving a verbal commitment, choosing to put off signing a letter of intent until the spring.

Briscoe is regarded as the top point guard in the 2015 class, coming in as the No. 10 player in the country based on SB Nation's composite rankings. The physical 6'3 guard improved his stock over the summer while playing in Nike's EYBL circuit.

Calipari amped up his recruiting efforts in recent months after Kentucky initially wasn’t on Briscoe’s radar. The Harrison twins and freshman Tyler Ulis are already in place in the backcourt, but you never know how playing time will open up due to early entries. By nabbing Briscoe, Calipari has yet another shiny toy to play with as he reloads his roster with elite talent yet again.

Briscoe joins 6’6 Chicago shooting guard Charles Matthews and 6’10 center Skal Labissiere in Kentucky’s 2015 recruiting class.
