Marcus Foster shot 1-of-13 from the field in Kansas State's loss to Long Beach State on Friday night. It was a demoralizing defeat for a Wildcats team on the cusp of the top 25, but the Maui Invitational offered both Foster and Kansas State an opportunity to quickly move on from the bad loss. That's exactly what happened in a 88-79 victory over Purdue to open up play at the Maui on Monday afternoon.
Marcus Foster goes off for Kansas State in win over Purdue at Maui Invitational
The Maui Invitational is underway with a big scoring effort from Marcus Foster in a Kansas State win.

Foster was the catalyst for Kansas State at both ends of the floor, finishing with 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field and 5-of-8 shooting from three-point ragne. Purdue had no prayer of stopping him:
While Foster was clearly the star of the show, it was a team effort for Kansas State. Seven players scored eight or more points, starting with 11 points and five rebounds off the bench from junior forward Stephen Hunt. Wesley Iwundu and Nino Williams each added 10 for Kansas State in the win.
Purdue made it interesting with a 55-point explosion in the second half. Sophomore wing Kendall Stephens finished with 21 points on 5-of-13 shooting from three-point range to lead the Boilermakers.
