The Associated Press has announced its preseason All-American team.

North Carolina's Marcus Paige and Wichita State's Fred VanVleet make up the backcourt. Paige, a 6'1 junior out of Iowa who averaged 17.5 points per game last season for the Tar Heels, was the leading vote-getter after being named on 58 of the 68 ballots. VanVleet, also a junior, averaged 11.6 points and 5.4 assists per game last year and helped the Shockers win their first 35 games last season before losing in the round of 32 at the NCAA Tournament to Kentucky.

Frank Kaminsky, a senior 7-footer from Wisconsin who scored 13.9 points per game last season and shot 38 percent on threes, also earned All-American honors after leading the Badgers to a Final Four appearance. He's joined in the front court by the 6'8, 240-pound Montrezl Harrell from Louisville and Jahlil Okafor, a 6'10 freshman at Duke.

Okafor, considered by many to be the top recruit in the class of 2014, is now the third freshman in the past five seasons to be named to the AP’s preseason All-American Team. He’s projected by Draft Express to be the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
