Conner Frankamp is transferring to Wichita State one month after deciding to leave Kansas, the sophomore guard told the Wichita Eagle on Monday. Frankamp is expected to be eligible for the second semester of the 2015-16 season.
Former Kansas guard Conner Frankamp is transferring to Wichita State
The Shockers are adding another great shooter in the former Kansas guard.

Frankamp attended Wichita North High School and was considered a top 50 recruit in the class of 2013. He played only 225 minutes as a freshman and decided to leave school after coach Bill Self showed he would primarily go with sophomore Frank Mason III and freshman Devonte Graham at point guard this season.
While Frankamp didn’t see much time with the Jayhawks last year, he did come off the bench to hit 4-of-7 three-pointers against Stanford’s zone defense in Kansas’ season-ending defeat to the Cardinal in the NCAA Tournament. Frankamp is considered a great shooter and has also showed an ability to limit turnovers.
Frankamp is expected to be eligible for the entire 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons in addition to the second semester of the ‘15-‘16 campaign. Of course, Wichita State’s backcourt is already crowded with All-American candidates Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker, but it’s possible either or both could jump to the NBA next summer.
The Shockers are currently ranked No. 8 in the AP Poll and are undefeated ahead of a game against No. 25 Utah on Dec. 3.
