NCAA bracket 2014: Wichita State stands atop Midwest Region, Louisville receives shocking No. 4 seed

The NCAA Tournament brackets are out, with Wichita State awarded the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region. The Shockers earned their spot on the top line after becoming the first team since UNLV in 1991 to enter the Big Dance with an undefeated record.

Wichita finished 34-0, including 18-0 in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Shockers have been criticized for not playing in a tough conference, but Gregg Marshall's team won a road game in Saint Louis against a tough Billikens team back in December. Star point guard Fred Van Vleet was named MVC Player of the Year, an award now named for Indiana State legend Larry Bird.
Louisville ended up with a surprising four seed, and the defending national champions will have a tough opener against Manhattan.
