Steve Donahue is out as the head coach at Boston College after four seasons, according to a report.

— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) March 18, 2014 Donahue took over as head coach of the Eagles in 2010 after making three straight NCAA Tournament appearances at Cornell. His first year was a decent success as Boston College went 21-13 overall, including a 9-7 mark against the ACC. The team just missed out on the NCAA Tournament, but still managed to win a game in the NIT. The next three years were bad, though, as Donahue's teams went 33-63. After winning just eight games this past season, the athletic department decided it was time for a change.
As Goodman notes, a good chunk of this year’s team should return next season. Boston College is not a great job by any means, but the program has been to 10 NCAA Tournaments over the last two decades and reached the Sweet 16 in 2006.
Boston College has not officially announced the firing as of early Tuesday afternoon.
