It’s not quite a home game, but No. 2-seed Wisconsin will be tasked with covering a double-figures spread over 15-seed American on Thursday.

The crowd should be heavily pro-Wisconsin, as the game is being played in Milwaukee. The Badgers were favored by nearly two touchdowns.
Thursday’s other West region game in Milwaukee pits 10-seed BYU against 7-seed Oregon, with Oregon going off as a 5.5-point favorite
At-large Wisconsin hit an ugly stretch in January going 1-5 SU and ATS with all five losses coming as the betting favorite, but turned things around with a 9-2 SU record down the stretch. However, it is just 4-10 ATS in its last 14 games as a favorite.
The total went OVER in 13 of Wisconsin’s last 20 games and in each of its last four. The Badgers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven first-round games.
American University finished the season on a 5-1 SU run en route to a Patriot League title and the automatic NCAA Tournament berth that came with it. The Eagles were a perfect 4-0 ATS this season and all four of those games went UNDER the total.
Wisconsin vs. American University gets underway in the early afternoon at 12:40 p.m. ET at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, with Oregon vs. BYU following later in the day at 3:10 p.m.
BYU finished the regular season on a 12-2 SU run, falling just short of a West Coast Conference title by losing to Gonzaga in the WCC Tournament Final, 75-64. The Cougars went just 13-18 ATS this season, but earned an at-large bid with a 23-11 SU record.
BYU had the third best scoring attack in the nation, led by Tyler Haws and his 23.3 points per game.
The Oregon Ducks also finished the season with one of the best offenses in the nation, averaging 81.8 points per game. The Ducks were 8-2-1 ATS over their last 11 games and 8-1 SU over their last nine games.
The total has gone OVER in five of Oregon’s last six tournament games.
