Jeff Bzdelik will not return as the head coach of Wake Forest. He either resigned, as reported by Evan Daniels of Scout.com, or he was fired, as reported by Jeff Goodman of ESPN.
Jeff Bzdelik will not return as coach of Wake Forest
Bzdelik’s Deacons went 51-76 in four years.

Wake Forest will announce the news at a 5 p.m. ET press conference, according to Gary Parrish of CBS.
Bzdelik faced criticism almost constantly over the course of his four-year tenure with the Demon Deacons. Wake Forest was 17-16 and 6-12 in the ACC this season, and overall the team went 51-76 under Bzdelik, including 17-51 in conference play.
The Deacons lost, 84-55, to Pittsburgh in Bzdelik’s last game at the helm, and directly afterward he would not discuss his future, according to USA Today’s Nicole Auerbach.
He recently told the Winston-Salem Journal that he had not heard anything about his job status, and he and his staff would continue working:
“My staff and I are continuing to work as hard as we can to continue to improve this program - which made great strides this past year,” Bzdelik said in a phone interview. “Nobody has told me otherwise. That’s the truth.
“Right now that’s what we’re doing, and I don’t know what else to say.”
Clearly, things changed quickly.
