Sweet 16 odds: Wisconsin vs Baylor betting, Arizona vs San Diego State

No. 2 seeds usually beat No. 6 seeds, which is bad news for Baylor fans. But 6-seeds usually cover the spread. Baylor vs Wisconsin and Arizona vs San Diego State highlight West Region Sweet 16 odds.

Nine times since 2002, a No. 2 seed has faced a 6-seed in the NCAA tournament.

Eight times, the higher seed won. Seven times, the lower seed covered the spread.

Second-seeded Wisconsin will try to keep that winning trend going against 6-seed Baylor as a 3-point favorite.

Later in the evening, the 1-seed Arizona Wildcats are a 6.5-point favorite squaring off against the 4-seed San Diego State Aztecs.

Last year, three games featured a 1 vs 4 matchup and the No. 4 seeds won twice, giving hope to Aztec bettors here.

Wisconsin improved to 2-0 SU and ATS in the 2014 NCAA Tournament with an 85-77 win and cover against the Oregon Ducks as a 6-point favorite. The Badgers are just 1-4 SU in their last five trips to the Sweet 16, but are 7-2 ATS in their last nine tournament appearances overall.

The total has gone OVER in five of Wisconsin’s last six games.

The Baylor Bears crushed Creighton 85-55 as a 3.5-point underdog Sunday to advance to the Sweet 16. The Bears are red-hot with a 12-2 SU and 10-3-1 ATS record over their last 14 games.

While 6-seeds are just 1-8 SU in their last 10 games against 2-seeds they are also 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against 2-seeds.

The Honda Center in Anaheim, California hosts Thursday night’s West Region games starting with Baylor vs. Wisconsin at 7:47 p.m. ET. The Arizona vs. San Diego State betting matchup is set to start at 10:17 p.m.

Arizona made it look easy in an 84-61 win and cover over Gonzaga on Sunday. The Wildcats are now 7-1 SU and ATS in their last eight NCAA Tournament games.

The total has gone UNDER in four of Arizona’s last six games overall, and the UNDER is also 6-0-1 in Arizona’s last seven games against San Diego State.

San Diego State is also coming in off a blowout 63-44 win over North Dakota State. The Aztecs are 8-1 SU and 6-3 ATS in their last nine games and the total has gone UNDER in four of their last five. SDSU is 2-2 SU and 3-1 ATS in its last four games against Arizona.
