Temple redshirt junior Anthony Lee will transfer to Ohio State after graduating for his final year of eligibility, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

The Columbia, Md. native decided to leave the Owls program several weeks ago and posted this message via his personal Facebook account:

“Temple University thanks for the 4 years. Proud to graduate at the end of the semester and take a new step in my life to reach my goal, purpose, and destiny. Excited about where God is going to order my steps next. Love ya’ll.”

Temple head coach Fran Dunphy issued a statement following Lee’s departure from the program on March 18:

“I met with Anthony Lee and he has expressed an intent to pursue his option to utilize the NCAA graduate student exception rule and transfer to another school,” Dunphy said. “Anthony has been a fine member of the Temple basketball family over his four years here and we will support any decision he feels are in his and his family’s best interests. We wish him well in the future.”

The 6’9, 225-pound big man averaged 13.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game for the Owls in 2013-2014. The season marked his fourth year on campus and third year of eligibility after taking a medical redshirt freshman year due to injury.

The two-year starter averaged 9.3 points and 6.8 rebounds in 92 career games at Temple. Lee has family in the Midwest and reportedly wanted to make sure his relatives were able to attend his collegiate games.

The announcement comes days after LaQuinton Ross gave up his senior year for the Buckeyes to pursue a career in the NBA and follows Temple's worst season in its near-120-year history.
