SB Nation 2014 Final Four Preview

The top-seeded Florida Gators are 5-1 ATS in Final Four games since 2000 and are favored to improve that record by dispatching the seventh-seeded Connecticut Huskies on Saturday night.

They'll try to punch a ticket to the NCAA Final for the first time since 2007 as 6.5-point favorites against UConn at the AT&T Center in Arlington, Texas. Florida's 62-52 win over Dayton marked the eighth time in the last 10 games the Gators have won by double-digits, including all four games in the NCAA Tournament.

The Gators are 30-0 SU over their last 30 games, 7-3 ATS over their last 10 and boast numerous positive Final Four betting trends. Florida has averaged 67.3 points per game on offense while allowing 55.0 ppg on defense in tournament play.

Each of Florida’s last three trips to the Final Four have resulted in double-digit wins.

Connecticut stunned the college basketball world with a 60-54 win over the Michigan State Spartans, coming away with the outright upset as a five-point underdog on the March Madness betting odds menu at Bovada.

Computer Prediction: 70-66 Florida

The Huskies are 6-1 SU and ATS over their last seven games, including a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS run through the NCAA Tournament. Of those seven games, UConn has been an underdog six times, pulling off five outright upsets over that stretch.

The total has gone UNDER in 10 of Connecticut’s last 13 games and in five of Florida’s last seven games. The total also went UNDER when these two teams met earlier this season in Connecticut, which was the last time that Florida lost this season, as UConn pulled off a 65-64 win as a four-point favorite at home.

Connecticut's standout senior guard Shabazz Napier was the star of the game, scoring 26 points, including a buzzer-beater to top the Gators. Things could be different this time around with Florida in top form and no home court for UConn.
