The Big 12 and broadcasters everywhere just got another challenge to deal with. According to Draft Express, Kansas has gotten a commitment from Ukranian guard Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk.
Kansas adds Ukranian Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk
The future Jayhawk is just 16 years old and has received comparisons to former Michigan star Nik Stauskas.

Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk has decided to attend Kansas, according to his club in the Ukraine. Mykhailius is only 16 and will be at KU two years.
— Jonathan Givony (@DraftExpress) May 21, 2014 To clear up confusion, Mykhailiuk already graduated high school and is eligible to attend Kansas this fall, despite being born in 1997.
— Jonathan Givony (@DraftExpress) May 21, 2014 I don't anticipate Mykhailiuk having any eligibility issues. He never signed a pro contract and his club is 100% supporting this move.
— Jonathan Givony (@DraftExpress) May 21, 2014 Mykhailiuk is a 6-foot-8 wing who can shoot and pass well. According to College Basketball Talk, one scout said he could have been a top 10 prospect in the Class of 2015 or 2016 if he was from the United States. And according to CBS Sports, another compared him to former Michigan star Nik Stauskas, who declared for the NBA Draft after this season.
Whether he’ll be the next Stauskas remains to be seen, but Mykhailiuk already has plans to follow in Stuaskas’ footsteps in one way: He will only stay in school for two seasons, because by that time, he will be 19 and eligible for the NBA Draft.
While many scouts see Mykhailiuk as a top get, he’ll have competition for playing time with star Wayne Selden, incoming five-star recruit Kelly Oubre and rising sophomore Brannen Greene.
