Basketball analyst and former NBA player Greg Anthony has been arrested in a vice sting operation for soliciting a prostitute in Washington D.C., according to reports. WJLA, the ABC affiliate in Washington D.C., was the first to break the news. The Associated Press confirmed with D.C. police that the man arrested was indeed the 47-year-old sports commentator.

Greg Anthony was reportedly arrested in Washington D.C. for soliciting a prostitute. He was scheduled to call Saturday’s college basketball game between Michigan State and Maryland.


CBS issued a statement saying Anthony won’t call another game this season and that he’s suspended indefinitely. Anthony. was scheduled to call Saturday’s game between Michigan State and Maryland in nearby College Park, Md.
Anthony was reportedly placed in lockup after being apprehended in Washington D.C.‘s 2nd District, according to ABC 7’s Jennifer Donelan. Lt. Kelvin Cusick, speaking with the AP, said that Anthony was arrested at 5:46 p.m. ET on Friday and later released.
Anthony faces a misdemeanor solicitation charge punishable by up to 180 days in jail.
Anthony also works as an NBA analyst for Turner Sports, and as a contributor to Yahoo! Sports. Before entering sports media, he spent 11 years in the NBA as a point guard for the New York Knicks, Vancouver Grizzlies, Seattle SuperSonics, Portland Trail Blazers, Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks. In college, Anthony started for the 1990 NCAA Champion UNLV Runnin' Rebels.
